Established in 1920

The League of Women Voters is an outgrowth of the National Suffrage Association. It was founded in 1920 shortly before the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote.

The Camden County League of Women Voters is one of 34 local Leagues in New Jersey (of which eight are "county" Leagues). It was created in 1963 by a merger of the Camden and Haddonfield Leagues.

Our Goal

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization for women and men, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The goal of the League of Women Voters is to empower people to shape better communities worldwide.
